The main components of the AMICA Adaptation Tool are:


  • the Matrix of Adaptation Measures and
  • the List of Evaluated Practice Examples.

    • The AMICA Adaptation Tool has been developed by the four AMICA working groups with scientific support by Dr. Manfred Stock and Oliver Walkenhorst, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK), Potsdam, Germany.

    In addition, there are many other efforts which aim at the provision of useful information on adaptation measures for practitioners, e.g.:


  • European Spatial Planning: Adapting to Climate Events (European adaptation network for practitioners)
  • UNFCCC Database on Local Coping Strategies (contains some 100 measures with a focus on the global South)
