Research on and Planting of Adapted Trees

Climate change already begins to affect urban vegetation as experiences in Dresden and Lyon show. Urban forest managers are thus urged to address the issue of coping with modified ecological conditions, in particular, warmer and drier summers.

Research on trees and shrubs that are better adapted to future climate conditions is therefore useful in order to ensure the sustainability of vegetation-related measures such as Urban Forestry or Shade Trees.
