Thermal comfort refers to perceived temperatures, especially inside of buildings. In particular, an increase in the occurence of heatwaves exacerbates the negative effects of heat islands and may result in an increase of heat-related illnesses and mortality unless suitable adaptation options are taken.

Conference on EU Green Paper on Adaptation in Brussels July 2007
In June 2007 the EU Commission has released its Green Paper on "Adapting to climate change in Europe – options for EU action". A conference on 3rd July 2007 in Brussels was intended to launch publicly the consultation on the green paper.

AMICA Working Group Meeting on Energy and Conference in Ferrara
On May 3rd 2007 a conference on the topic "The Climate changes: The Province of Ferrara between Adaptation and Mitigation" took place in Ferrara.
